GLDMES First Backyard Camping

The chief aim of Scouting is to provide a program of activities for boys and girls which are fun and challenging and which at the same time will help them to develop into well-rounded individuals and useful persons in a changing world.

The Troop Leaders being the responsible persons for the troops developments, should hold activities that will help scouters become independent and good citizens. Hence, Camping ranks as one of the highest in the list of activities that Scouters like to do, G.L. David Memorial Elementary School’s Troop Leaders and Kawan Leaders decided to go on a Backyard Camping with Mrs. Nory M. Santos as the over-all chairman.

Backyard Camping went on for one and one half day thru divisions of activities. On November 28, 2012, afternoon, tent fixing, opening program, and campfire were done while on the second day, November 29, 2012, began the day through a physical fitness activity and hiking. After taking   breakfast, the campers attended their trainings on different bases scheduled to them, wherein the speakers namely; GSP TL Nory M. Santos, TL Cristina dela Torre, TL Pilinda Rose Dominguez, TL Eloisa Bacani TL Lea de Jesus, TL Clarissa Quinacman, TL Lilia Vilan ,and BSP Kl Marian Robles, Jennifer Ramos, Kristine Seril, Marilou Valiente, Luzve Castillo, and Concepcion Chiuco were waiting for them.

For the closing program, Mrs. Jovita B. Singzon, gave a meaningful message to the campers, after the prayer led by KL Jennifer Ramos. Distribution of certificates of appreciation, participation, and recognition were rendered followed by the challenging closing remarks delivered by Mrs. N. Santos to the campers before breaking the camp.

In spite of the tiresome activities, all went home happily and satisfied bearing the success of Backyard Camping.
